Created With Care Wall Hanging and Painting Donations Raised $2500 for Two Non-Profits

A couple of months ago BluethumbArt + Handkraftedco approached me to participate in a project called Created With Care. They paired a selection of Australian makers and artists to collaborate on (and donate) one-of-a-kind pieces to be auctioned for a charity of their choosing.

Josh Pinkus and I created a wall hanging and nominated Save-A-Dog, a charity that has saved thousands of dogs and cats since 1985. I’m happy to share that bidding ended at $1500 raised for Save-A-Dog!IMG_0101

While bidding continued for the project in June I was invited to appear on Channel 10’s flagship morning show, Studio 10, to help spread the word about Created With Care.  I painted live on the show and donated the abstract to be auctioned for the project. The painting auctioned for $1000 and proceeds will be donated to Good360, a non-profit who facilitates a way for businesses to donate brand new unsold goods to charities and Australians in need.

It was a great project to be a part of, and the collaborative circumstances of the works resulted in artwork that I would not have created otherwise!  Many thanks to Bluethumb and Handkrafted for inviting me to participate. 🙂
